February 7, 2021: The State of Oklahoma has declared a state of emergency in response to a winter storm that affects Cigna Medicare providers in the Canadian, Cleveland, Lincoln, Logan, McClain, and Oklahoma counties. In recognition of the impact on our Medicare providers, as of this date, Cigna will lift normal requirements for at least 30 days, until March 9, 2021. February 16, 2021: The State of Texas has declared a state of emergency in response to a winter storm that affects Cigna Medicare providers in all counties. March 22, 2021: The State of Alabama has declared a state of emergency in response to severe weather that affects Cigna Medicare Advantage providers in Chilton and Colbert counties. March 26, 2021: The State of Georgia has declared a state of emergency in response to severe weather that affects Cigna Medicare Advantage providers in all counties. April 6, 2021: The State of Florida has declared a state of emergency in response to severe weather that affects Cigna Medicare Advantage providers in Manatee County. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services requires Medicare Advantage Organizations (MAOs) and Part D Plan sponsors to maintain access to the Part A/B, supplemental Part C, and Part D benefits (as applicable) for beneficiaries in areas affected in the event of a Presidential emergency declaration, a Presidential (major) disaster declaration, a declaration of emergency or disaster by a Governor, or an announcement of a public health emergency by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
