NEW ICD-10 Code 

  • The Centers for Disease Control keeps a pulse on E-cigarettes, Vaping, and associated lung injury impact in the United States. A new ICD-10 code will be assigned for E-cigarette Vaping Associated Lung Injury (U07.0) effective April 1, 2020. Sensitive Diagnosis 2019 The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services ( and specific state laws provide explicit guidance when caring for those with diagnoses that are sensitive in nature. Utilizing the Sensitive Diagnosis flyer, which highlights lists of common sensitive codes, may improve documentation and coding of these diagnoses.

Coding and Documentation Submission Update Effective July 1, 2019 Medicare Advantage has implemented a 90 day submission period. This change provides consistency for the submission of all patient prospective forms and aligns with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) amendment submission of addendums to 90 days.
